About Helen Matkin, KFRP

Helen Matkin With over 20 years in the public and private sector as a Finance Manager/Management Accountant, Helen seemed the most unlikely person to become involved with and qualify as a complementary therapist. At first a client herself, then curious to know more about the amazing therapy that had helped her so much, she trained to become a practitioner. It took just 10 minutes of the first training course for Helen to realise that at last, she knew what she really wanted to do with her life — Health Kinesiology, and Helen has been passionate about it ever since, expanding her knowledge and skills to include Colour Mirrors, Reiki and Dowsing with great enthusiasm.

Today, Helen has her own busy home based practice. She has recently joined the Healing Hands Network, a national charity helping victims of war in Sarajevo and UK Service Personnel suffering PTSD, see www.healinghandsnetwork.org.uk, and is raising money to fund a two week volunteer stint out in Sarajevo.

Health Kinesiology Training

Since beginning training in June 2006, Helen has attended 8 four day Health Kinesiology courses (HK1 - HK8) involving many study hours, case studies, and tutor-tested skills. All courses are approved and accredited by the Open College Network ensuring high professional standards. In addition Helen has also completed and qualified in Anatomy & Physiology to NVQ Level 3, Nutrition, Counselling/Interpersonal Skills, Business Management and the Kinesiology Federation’s foundation course: Touch for Health.

Non Health Kinesiology Training

Colour Mirrors: Helen qualified as an independent practitioner in May 2010 and uses it extensively within her Health Kinesiology sessions and also as a separate therapy in its own right combined with Dowsing.

Dowsing for Health & Stress: in July 2010, Helen completed a course in Dowsing for Health and Stress, which often gets used within both the Health Kinesiology and Colour Mirrors sessions.

Helen has attended workshops, lectures and seminars on Essences and Nutrition as well as reading and studying a wide range of health issues. In the Spring of 2011 she completed a PTTLS (Preparation to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector) course - (that's teaching adults), ready to run workshops and self help groups in the near future.

In Nov 2011 Helen completed a Reiki 1 course, and has just done Reiki 2 in January 2012.
